What is Confections of Faith?
Confections of Faith is a volunteer-driven ministry that provides personalized celebration cakes to individuals, families, and groups. Our goal is simple: to “rejoice with those who rejoice” (Romans 12:15) by sharing the sweetness of God’s love through handcrafted confections and community care.
Who can receive a cake?
We serve individuals and families facing hardship or special circumstances who might otherwise be unable to celebrate life’s meaningful moments. In addition, we joyfully provide cakes for our volunteers and partner charity organizations to honor their service and encourage their continued work in the community. Referrals can come from churches, community organizations, or individuals who know someone deserving of a joyful surprise.
Do I have to be a professional baker to volunteer?
Not at all! We welcome volunteers of all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned decorator or just love baking for others, there’s a place for you. You can even volunteer to deliver cakes or help out in other ways if you prefer not to bake. Every act of service helps make our ministry possible.
What are Decorating Disciples, and how do I become one?
Decorating Disciples are the volunteers who help bring our mission to life through baking, decorating, and delivering cakes that celebrate others in Christlike love. Each Disciple uses their time and talent to “rejoice with those who rejoice” (Romans 12:15).
Becoming one is simple: sign up through our volunteer form and we’ll connect you with opportunities to serve as they arise. No professional experience required; you just need a willing heart and a desire to share joy.
How are recipients chosen?
We accept nominations and requests through our website. Each request is prayerfully reviewed to ensure we’re reaching those in genuine need of encouragement, celebration, and community connection.
How are donations used?
All donations go directly toward sustaining and expanding our ministry. This includes purchasing ingredients, baking supplies, packaging, and delivery materials for our cakes, as well as covering essential operational costs such as website and marketing maintenance, promotional materials, and the legal filings necessary to maintain our nonprofit status under state and federal law. Every dollar helps keep Confections of Faith both sweet in spirit and sound in structure, helping us to share joy and Christlike love with more people.
Can my church, nonprofit, or business partner with you?
Absolutely! We love partnering with churches, nonprofits, and local businesses to extend our reach and impact. Partnerships can take many forms — from helping us reach more people in need of celebration to directly serving the organizations that serve others.
For instance, community groups that work with the elderly or visit hospital patients can nominate individuals for cakes, ensuring that no birthday or milestone goes unnoticed. We also love to bless our partner nonprofits by providing cakes or cupcakes for volunteer appreciation events or special occasions.
Certain businesses, such as small bakeries, may choose to partner by donating cakes or fulfilling requests on our behalf. Every partnership helps multiply joy and reflect Christ’s love throughout the community.
